Held every two years, the Steeple Ashton Open Gardens event is a cherished tradition where local residents throw open the gates to their stunning, meticulously tended private spaces for the public to enjoy. For a modest admission fee, visitors are invited to wander, explore, and marvel at the hidden sanctuaries tucked away throughout the village.
In 2026 I had the absolute privilege of photographing every single participating garden, capturing the incredible dedication and artistry of our green-thumbed neighbours. Meeting the owners and translating the vibrant colors, tranquil ponds, and blooming landscapes into a comprehensive photo collection made it an unforgettable event for the entire community.

Steeple Ashton Pétanque Tournament
Launched in 2026, the Steeple Ashton Pétanque Tournament introduced a brand-new tradition to our social calendar. Villagers of all skill levels gathered for an afternoon of friendly, lighthearted competition on the piste.
With everyone bringing dishes and drinks to share, the afternoon flowed seamlessly into a quintessential village gathering, wrapped in the warm, joyful atmosphere of a perfect summer evening. You can find more details about the tournament here.
